The origins of Petitpierre’s handcrafted watchmaker toolboxes are rooted in a deep passion for watchmaking. The initial idea was to pay tribute to the extraordinary work of master Swiss watchmakers, who often invented their own watch repair tools.
These craftsmen, true geniuses of micro-mechanics, embodied the spirit of precision and self-sufficiency. The aim was to design watchmaker tools of a quality comparable to that of the timepieces these masters created, in a spirit of respect and humility.
The project took shape thanks to the collaboration between Boris Petitpierre and an enthusiastic watchmaker. Together, they put a great deal of thought into the design of the watchmaker’s box, both in terms of content and the container. After several months of study, they selected a set of 54 watch repair tools, representing a wide range of watchmaking needs, although the box could have contained more. Each tool had to meet the highest standards of quality.
